This is Coach Hildebrand’s second year as head coach of Brookwood Swim and Dive. In his first year with the team, the swim and dive program boasted its 9th straight county win for the girls and a 2nd place finish at state.  While the boys finished 2nd at county and 3rd at state.  He currently teaches World History. Prior to moving to Brookwood, Coach Hildebrand taught for 18yrs at Duluth Middle School, serving as a department chair and as a gifted classroom Social Studies teacher. While in the Duluth cluster, Coach Hildebrand co-head coached the Wildcat Middle School Swim program to two metro championships and two championships at the Southeastern Middle School championships in Chattanooga from 2006-2022. Coach Hildebrand also served as an assistant coach under Duluth High School's Jim Reason from 2008-2022 winning the county Staff-of-the-Year for girls in 2020 & 2022.  During the summer, Coach Hildebrand coaches the Spalding Corners Sharks where they won the GCSL championship in 2019 and 2021.  He has also been recognized as a summer league Coach-of-the-Year in 2001, 2009, and 2022. 

Coach Hildebrand’s wife is a chemistry teacher at Duluth High School. His oldest daughter, Amelia, was a year-round swimmer at Swim Atlanta and was the 2021 county champion in 100 breaststroke. She will be swimming for the University of Florida in the fall. Kailyn, his youngest daughter, will be a sophomore at Duluth High School in the fall and will stay at Duluth to both swim and and participate in their volleyball program. 

Assistant Swimming Coach

Coach Rovie is the assistant coach for Brookwood Swim and Dive and is in second year with the team. He teaches Gifted Language Arts, AP Literature, and AP Language at Brookwood. He has served as head track coach at Collins Hill and Brookwood (2016-2020) and is currently an assistant track coach for the BHS Girls Track and Field team, working with sprinters and mid-distance runners. He was formerly an assistant Cross Country coach (2016-2019) at Collins Hill and Brookwood.

His youngest daughter, Cate, is a 10th grader who swims year-round for Gwinnett Aquatics. His other daughter, Jillian, is a senior and a former year-round GAGA swimmer who now runs cross country and track. Coach Rovie also works as a stroke and turn official and starter for the Gwinnett County Summer League.

Assistant Swimming Coach

Brad Callahan

This is Coach Brad Callahan's first year as an assistant swim coach at Brookwood HS. He currently teaches Biology/AP Biology at Social Circle HS and has been a HS Science teacher in GCPS for 18 years and in Georgia for 22 years. Coach Callahan has 8 years of GHSA Swim coaching experience - as assistant head coach at Central Gwinnett and Head Coach at Social Circle MS/HS team for 4 years. He also has over 10 years combined experience in Gwinnett county summer league, year round coaching, and private swim stroke instruction.

Coach Callahan's wife is currently the administrative assistant at RD Head Elementary in the Brookwood cluster. His twin children, Adian and Addison are rising 9th graders and will be attending Brookwood HS in the fall. Aidan is a year round distance swimmer at Swim Atlanta and will be swimming on the BHS team as well as being a member of the BHS Drumline/band program. Addison plays softball and will be part of the BHS chorus program as well as robotics team.

Coach Callahan is a proud resident and parent in the Brookwood cluster and is looking forward to a fantastic upcoming swim season!
